SCOUTING THE RAMBELLES
Angelo State comes as one of the best defensive sides in the Lone Star Conference. The stingy 'Belles have permitted just a pair of goals in regulation this season while ranking second in the league with a 0.61 team goals against average. Paced by 6-1 senior goalkeeper Dani Edwards who has permitted just two goals in 467 minutes this season and stopped 18 of 20 shots (.900), ASU has limited the opposition to 7.7 total shots per game. The Rambelles tally 1.50 goals per game led by freshman Kathleen Keoughan, sophomore Selena Alvarez and freshman Jenny Kotowych who have tallied two goals through six matches. Angelo State has claimed 2-0 wins in each of their last two outings against Colorado Mesa and St. Mary's (Texas).

ABOUT THE SERIES
Midwestern State and Angelo State meet for the 26th time on the pitch Thursday night at the MSU Soccer Field. The Mustangs own a 13-6-6 edge in the series including a 9-2-1 advantage in games played in Wichita Falls. However, the Rambelles have claimed victories in two of their last three tries at the MSU Soccer Field.

MUSTANGS IN LSC OPENERS
Midwestern State is 7-5-5 in Lone Star Conference openers since joining the league in 1996. This is the third consecutive season the Mustangs open LSC play against Angelo State with MSU falling to the 'Belles in 2011 and playing to a 1-1 draw in 2012. This is the eighth time the programs will mix it up in a league opener as each team has claimed two victories and played to a draw three times.
