LUBBOCK, Texas -- Caitlin Wallace and Beatriz Villalba combined for 27 kills as Midwestern State rallied for a 19-25, 25-14, 25-14, 27-25 win over Lubbock Christian in the finale of the Heartland/Lone Star Conference Crossover Saturday afternoon at Rip Griffin Center.

The Mustangs rebounded from a sluggish start before executing a nearly flawless second set to turn the tide.

MSU enters conference play with a 7-1 mark and plays host to No. 12 West Texas A&M Tuesday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. First serve is set for 7 p.m.

Wallace recorded double-figure kills for the third consecutive match finishing with a game-high 14 kills making just a pair of errors for a .462 attack percentage to along with three total blocks.

Villalba put down a season-high 13 kills with nine digs, while senior outside hitter Marija Jovanovic proved efficient with seven kills.

Junior middle blocker Kaitlyn Molloy lead a solid defensive effort with five total blocks and 20 digs, while Madelyn Johnson had 22 digs to lead back row efforts.

Freshman setter Sarah Rosinke notched 39 assists and nine digs to pace the Mustangs to a .237 team attack percentage.

Amy Edwards had 13 kills to pace Lubbock Christian as the Chaps fell to 3-5 on the season.
