WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Angelo State sent 11 hitters to the plate and scored seven runs in the third inning to send No. 19 Midwestern State to its fourth straight loss 8-2 Friday night at Mustangs Park.

MSU falls to 20-8 on the season and to 4-3 in Lone Star Conference play while the 'Belles rolled to their eighth victory in 10 games to improve to 21-8 and 6-1.

ASU's Ambra Hill delivered a two-run single while Rachel Moore, Darian Dunn, Carly Peters and Morgan Spearman all accounted for run-scoring singles in the decisive frame.

Outside of the third inning, Midwestern State freshman
Laci Belovsky dominated with 11 strikeouts allowing just one run on five hits to fall to 13-5 on the season.

Angelo State's Mary Kate McKay cooled NCAA Division II's top offense by effectively pitching on the inside part of the plate as the Mustangs continually pounded balls into the 'Belles' shift on the left side of the infield.

The Mustangs managed their only runs on a run-scoring single by
Shelby Carter in the fourth inning after
Christina Roosmalen drilled her sixth double of the season through the left side of the infield then came around to score on a throwing error.

McKay improved to 8-5 on the season allowing one earned run on four hits with four strikeouts and two walks in the complete game victory.

Haley Howerton legged out a pair of singles to account for half of MSU's output while moving into the No. 2 slot in the lineup in place of injured center fielder
Elena Bennett.
