PLANO, Texas – The Midwestern State men's opened the 2013 season with a 7-2 win over Collin College at the Cougar Tennis Center.
The MSU men swept all three doubles matches and claimed all but the top two singles matches.
"It was a good opener," said MSU Coach
Scott Linn. "I was very pleased with the play of our freshmen. There's a lot of potential on the team."

Luke Joyce and freshman
Austin Crawford dispatched Collin's No. 1 team of Patrick Clynes and Oscar von Koch 8-5, while MSU's No. 2 team of sophomores
Kacper Boborykin and
Tomas Grejtak downed CC's Donovan McSeveney and Ian Souix 8-6.
Freshmen
Franko Siljeg and
Kyle Davidson won at No. 3 over Collin's Chris Carillo and Gino Raneri 8-5.
In singles, Siljeg ripped von Koch 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3, while Davidson downed Carillo 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4.
Crawford won at No. 5 over Kyle Funk 6-1, 6-3, as Grejtak downed Sioux 6-0, 6-3 at No. 6.
Collin took the top two singles spots with McSeveney beating Joyce 7-5, 6-1 at No. 1 and Clynes beating Boborykin 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2.
Midwestern started a second match against Southeastern Oklahoma State, but rain halted it after the doubles matches with MSU up 2-1. However, that result was washed away with the rain.
MSU and Southeastern have rescheduled the match for Tuesday, March 5 in Durant, Okla.
