SCOUTING THE CRIMSON STORM
The Great American Conference leaders roll into Tuesday night's match on a five-game winning streak and are 11-2 since taking a 3-0 loss to the Mustangs in the finale of the MSU/Hampton Inn-vitational last month in Wichita Falls. Southern Nazarene (12-5, 5-0) is paced on the attack by Taylor Jacobs. The junior outside hitter transfer from UTA averages 3.97 kills per set and is a solid helper on the back row with 2.55 digs per set. The Crimson Storm boasts solid secondary options in senior middle blocker Jamie Hope (2.38 kps, 3.03 dps) and senior middle blocker Kira Roberts (2.34 kps). Junior setter Kaylee Piatt pilots SNU's .216-hitting attack with 9.15 set assists per game, while freshman Abbey Bell leads the back row with 3.71 digs per set. Hope (0.93 bps), Piatt (0.60 bps) and junior middle blocker Emily Dick (0.89 bps) give the Crimson Storm solid net play and a 2.05 team block per set average.
 
ABOUT THE SERIES
Midwestern State and Southern Nazarene meet for the 28th time on the court Tuesday night at Sawyer Center. The Mustangs own a 20-7 edge in the series and are 8-4 against the Crimson Storm in Bethany. MSU defeated SNU 25-18, 25-14, 25-17 last month in Wichita Falls.

SCOUTING THE JAVELINAS
Texas A&M-Kingsville carries a three-match winning streak into this week's play. The Mustangs are the third match for the Javelinas this week as TAMUK battles Incarnate Word on Tuesday and Cameron on Friday. The Texas A&M-Kingsville attack features a trio of players averaging more than two kills per set with senior outside hitter Dedra Brown leading the way at 2.98 kills per set followed by junior outside hitter Kelsey Washington (2.82 kps) and junior middle blocker Stephanie Johns (2.26 kps). Junior setter Sarah Fountain quarterbacks to the offensive averaging 9.40 set assists a set as the Javelinas hit .195 as a team. Freshman Brittany Gutierrez leads back row play with 3.78 digs per set while Washington chips in 3.29.
 
ABOUT THE SERIES
Midwestern State and Texas A&M-Kingsville meet for the 24th time on the court Saturday at Steinke Center. The Javelinas lead the overall series 14-9 and has a 6-2 edge in matches played in Kingsville. The home team has won the last seven matches of the series dating back to the start of the 2008 season. The Mustangs last won in Kingsville on Oct. 18, 2007 by a 3-1 margin.
 

ABOUT THE MUSTANGS
Midwestern State looks to get back on a positive roll stepping out of league play Tuesday at Southern Nazarene before heading to South Texas to take on Texas A&M-Kingsville. MSU boasts a 7-1 non-conference mark including 3-0 win over SNU at the MSU/Hampton Inn-vitational last month in Wichita Falls. Senior middle blocker Caitlin Wallace continues to lead the LSC with a .352 hitting percentage while putting down 2.76 kills per set, while junior middle blocker Kaitlyn Molloy came on to lead the Mustangs with eight kills in a 3-0 win over Cameron Saturday in Lawton. Freshman Sarah Garfield has come on strong to put down 2.00 kills with 0.74 blocks per set since moving into the starting lineup six matches ago at Angelo State. Freshman setter Sarah Rosinke returned from a five-match injury absence to lead the team to a .220 hitting percentage with 18 set assists and four service aces. The Mustangs have hit .200-or-better as a team in eight of her 10 appearances while hitting no better than .159 without Rosinke on the floor.
 
THE LSC RACE
Midwestern State completes its first turn through the Lone Star Conference loop Saturday in Kingsville. The Mustangs are currently eighth in the league and three matches back in the loss column for the sixth and final berth in the postseason tournament set for Nov. 21-23 at the site of the league champion. West Texas A&M leads the way with a 4-0 mark followed by Angelo State (4-1), Tarleton State (4-1), Texas Woman's (3-1), Texas A&M-Kingsville (3-3), Texas A&M-Commerce (2-2), Eastern New Mexico (2-3), MSU (1-6) and Cameron (0-6).
 
THREE...DOT...THOUGHTS...
Midwestern State snapped a six-game by claiming a 3-0 win over Cameron Saturday in Lawton... Freshman setter Sarah Rosinke returned to lead the MSU attack to a .220 kill rate after missing the previous five matches due to injury... Prior to Rosinke's injury, the Mustangs boasted a .200-or-better attack percentage in seven of nine matches. Without Rosinke in the lineup, MSU managed no better than a .154 team kill rate... Junior middle blocker Kaitlyn Molloy put down a team-high eight kills to go along with 10 digs and two blocks against Cameron to lead the MSU attack... Senior middle blocker Caitlin Wallace did not commit an error in 15 attacks finishing with five kills, six digs and three total blocks against the Aggies... Senior right-side hitter Michelle Blount notched six kills with two blocks in her first start of the season Saturday in Lawton... Junior libero Casey Fletcher recorded double-figure digs in her sixth consecutive match Saturday against CU leading the back row with 15... Freshman Sarah Garfield continued her strong play with six kills and two total blocks. She has started each of MSU's last six matches... Sophomore outside hitter Nicole Marzik hit a season-best .143 with five kills and two errors in 21 total attacks Saturday at Cameron. She added 11 digs... Wallace leads the LSC with a .352 attack percentage with a team-best 2.76 kills per set... Rosinke ranks eighth in the LSC with 6.32 assists per set and is fifth in 0.32 service aces...
