DOME MAGIC REIGNS: Mustangs restore order against Cameron

WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- It was more back to business as usual for Midwestern State Saturday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.

Five different Mustangs scored in double figures as MSU rolled to an 86-72 win over Cameron.

It was Midwestern's 15th straight win over Aggies at D.L. Ligon Coliseum dating back to 1990 and it was the 10th win in the last 11 games against CU. The Mustangs moved to 8-2 in league play and remain in a first-place tie with Incarnate Word which defeated Texas A&M-Kingsville 75-67 earlier Saturday.

MSU battles Incarnate Word Thursday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

Senior guard Kevin Grayer paced the Mustangs' balanced attack with 20 points on an impressive 5-of-6 shooting night with a 3-pointer while going 9-of-10 at the free throw line. Grayer also proved effective as a playmaker with eight assists. That was a common for many MSU players as the Mustangs shot 57.1 percent as a team (28-of-49).

Senior forward Corbin Thomas bounced back from his worst performance of the season to go 6-of-6 from the file to finish with 15 points and five rebounds, while junior guard Cam Adderley notched his sixth consecutive double-figure performance with 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting.

Junior forward Derek Kaster (11 points, 9 rebounds) and sophomore guard Derrell Gibbs (11 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists) also scored in double figures for the Mustangs.

MSU led by as many as 20 points in the opening half as Gibbs gave the Mustangs a 38-18 edge when he connected on his second 3-pointer of the contest 3:52 before halftime.

Cameron senior guard Craig Foster, who posted a double-double with 18 points and 10 assists, led the Aggie charge in the second half but they could get no closer than within 10 points.

Asaad Robinson and Kimric Dixon bombed in four 3-pointers each to finish with 20 and 12 points, respectively for the Aggies, who had a season-best six-game winning streak go by the boards. Cameron fell to 10-6 on the season and to 6-4 in LSC play.
