KINGSVILLE, Texas -- Texas A&M-Kingsville's Kelsey Washington led a pack of four players with double-digit kills to lead the Javelinas to a 20-25, 25-19, 15-25, 25-17, 15-6 Lone Star Conference win over Midwestern State Friday night on Hampton Inn Court.
 
The loss extended Midwestern's skid to six losses as the Mustangs dipped to 4-18 on the season and to 2-10 in league play.
 
MSU takes on Incarnate Word Saturday afternoon in San Antonio. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
 
Washington put down 18 kills while Dedra Brown, Bethany Friesenhahn and Kelsee Felux added 15, 13 and 10 kills respectively as the Javelinas hit .253 as a team piloted by sophomore setter Sarah Fountain's 52-assist effort.
 
Junior outside hitter 
Beatriz Villalba put down five of her team-high 10 kills in the opening set to lead Midwestern to a 25-20 win.
 
The Mustangs were unable to sustain the momentum in the second set before rallying to hit .391 as a team in a decision 25-15 win in the third set.
 
But Texas A&M-Kingsville controlled the final two sets to secure the win.
 
Sophomore middle blocker 
Kasey Decker added nine kills while junior outside hitter 
Courtney Haney put down kills in six of her 11 attacks without an error for a .545 hitting percentage.
 
Junior middle blocker 
Caitlin Wallace notched four total blocks to pace the Mustangs at the net while sophomore libero 
Casey Fletcher had 13 digs to pace back row efforts.
 
Texas A&M-Kingsville improved to 11-10 on the season and to 4-8 in LSC play.
