WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- The Midwestern State volleyball team hosts its annual Dig for the Cure match Saturday when it plays host to Tarleton State at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. First service is set for 2 p.m.
In conjunction with simply raising awareness, the team is having a raffle to raise funds to support research to rid the world of breast cancer.
Raffle tickets are available for $2 each with all proceeds going to support the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation. Gifts for the raffle have been donated by KellyKate Photography, JoS A. Bank Clothiers, Back Basix, Maryland's Beauty Salon, Spa on the Plaza and Jason's Deli.
The raffle will be held during the second and third sets of MSU's match against the TexAnns.
Tickets may be purchased from any MSU volleyball player or coach and will be available prior to the drawing on Saturday.
Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the boldest community fueling the best science and making the biggest impact in the fight against breast cancer.
To date, the foundation has invested almost $2 billion in research and life-saving community programs. A Komen grant has touched every major breast cancer breakthrough of the past 29 years. Those investments have helped drive down breast cancer mortality rates by 33 percent since 1991. The Mustangs tip off a busy three-day Homecoming stretch against No. 11 Angelo State Friday afternoon at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. First serve is set for 4 p.m.
The match will be followed by a doubleheader at the MSU Soccer Field. The men take on NAIA Houston-Victoria at 6:30 p.m. followed by the women against Incarnate Word at 8:30.Â

Tarleton State (13-5, 8-2) bounced back from a five-set loss to Angelo State with victories over Texas A&M-Commerce and Texas Woman's University at home last week. The TexAnns have now won 11 of their last 13 matches with their only losses coming to the Rambelles. Tarleton's strength resides at the net where 5-9 senior middle blocker
