Midwestern State faces a heavy slate of four matches this week including a pair of crucial Lone Star Conference matchups on the road against Cameron and Abilene Christian.

Cameron (6-11, 2-5) has dropped four of their last five matches but split a pair of matches Saturday at Aggie Gym. CU claimed a 3-1 win over Texas A&M-Commerce before losing a five-set decision to St. Mary's (Texas) later in the afternoon. Freshmen outside hitters Kathryn Evans and Shannon Dulaney pace the Aggie attack with 3.42 and 3.00 kills per set respectively. Junior setter Jenna Rosoli directs an offensive with a .150 team attack percentage with 9.85 assists per set. Sophomore libero Nisa Garcia leads back row efforts with 3.50 digs per set. The Aggies are 2-4 on their home floor this season.

The Wildcats (4-11, 1-6) ride a five-match skid into Friday's conference contest with Midwestern State and have lost eight of their last nine. ACU, which is struggling to a .124 team attack percentage, is paced by sophomore middle blocker Sara Oxford with 3.02 kills per set while freshman outside hitter Jennie Loerch adds 2.43 kills per set. Freshman setter Sarah Siemens directs the attack with 9.20 set assists per set while freshman libero Madison Hoover and juniro outside hitter Madelyn Robinett lead back row efforts with 3.70 and 3.00 digs per set, respectively. 
All-Time Series: Abilene Christian leads 24-6.

The Falcons (5-10) bring a three-match losing streak into a trio of matches this weekend in Abilene as UTPB takes on McMurry on Thursday, MSU on Friday and Cameron on Saturday. Junior middle blocker Melissa Lusk (2.74 kills per set) and senior middle blocker Jamie Rodell (2.36 kills per set) pace the Falcon attack while also leading a strong net game with 1.04 and 1.02 blocks per set respectively. Junior Ariel Fralick (5.02 set assists per set) and freshman Ariana Gallardo (4.74 set assists per set) direct UTPB's 6-2 system to a .144 team attack percentage, while senior libero Danae Eckart averages 6.24 digs per set on the back row.

The Patriots (9-5) dropped the first of a three-match home stand to McMurry on Saturday and take on another Heartland Conference foe -- Oklahoma Panhandle State -- Friday before facing MSU. Senior middle blocker Kristin Secord leads the DBU offensive with 3.50 kills per set with an impressive .332 attack percentage while leadin the Patriots at the net with 1.17 blocks per set. Freshman outside hitter Tadam Mergener and sophomore outside hitter Erika Papadeas add 3.00 and 2.48 kills per set, respectively. Redshirt freshman Kaycie Bird (5.40 set assists per set) and junior Tyler Bradsher (4.88 set assists per set) command DBU's 6-2 system to a .220 team attack percentage. Junior libero Cameron Hartson notches 5.63 digs per set on the back row.

ABOUT THE MUSTANGS
  
Midwestern State (3-12, 1-6) looks to snap a three-match skid and work its way into Lone Star Conference postseason contention against a pair of struggling sides in Cameron and Abilene Christian. But the Mustangs need to win for the first time on an opponent's home floor where MSU has struggled to an 0-6 mark this season. Senior outside hitter Shelbi Stewart paces MSU's attack with 2.84 kills per set while junior middle blocker Caitlin Wallace tops the team with a .261 attack percentage at 2.37 kills per set. Sophomore setter Kristan Aduddell (6.20 set assists and 1.94 digs per set) and junior setter/outside hitter Courtney Haney (1.42 kills, 4.85 set assists and 2.45 digs per set) direct the Mustangs' 6-2 system to a .158 team attack percentage. Sophomore libero Casey Fletcher leads the back row with 3.80 digs per set. 
      

NOTEWORTHY
  • Midwestern State suffered consecutive Lone Star Conference defeats to No. 5 West Texas A&M, Texas A&M-Commerce and Texas Woman's University to fall to 3-12 on the season andto 1-6 in league play.
  • Junior middle blocker Caitlin Wallace registered her 500th career kill Saturday against TWU.
  • Junior outside hitter/setter Courtney Haney notched a triple double with 10 kills, 18 set assists and 12 digs in Friday's 3-1 loss to Texas A&M-Commerce.
  • Junior transfer Michelle Blount enjoyed a solid week on the attack hitting .275 with a combined 13 kills and two errors in 40 attempts.
  • Senior outside hitter Shelbi Stewart paced the Mustangs by putting down 2.80 kills per set last week including a 14-kill, 9-dig effort Friday against Texas A&M-Commerce.
  • Sophomore Kristan Aduddell recorded 29 set assists out of the 6-2 system Friday against Texas A&M-Commerce with an impressive .439 set percentage.
  • Junior outside hitter Brandi Flores came on strong Saturday against TWU recording three kills with two digs and two total blocks over the final two sets.
  • Sophomore setter Kristan Aduddell needs 40 assists to become just the 10th setter in program history to notch 1,000 career set assists.
  • Midwestern fell to 1-9 in three-set matches this season.
