    For the record

Midwestern State can extend its home field unbeaten streak to 24 games Sunday afternoon against Colorado-Colorado Springs.

The Mustangs are 20-0-3 at the MSU Soccer Field since dropping a 1-0 decision to West Texas A&M back on Nov. 4, 2007. The three draws have come against Sonoma State (2007 NCAA II national quarterfinals), West Texas A&M and Texas A&M International.

Midwestern strung 22 consecutive winning results together starting with a 4-0 victory over The Master's on Sep. 14, 1990 and ending with a 1-0 defeat against Rockhurst on Sep. 25, 1992.

MSU has opened the 2010 campaign with wins over Texas A&M International and Colorado State-Pueblo, while Colorado-Colorado Springs opened the season with a 1-2 as the Mountain Lions have dropped two-straight matches (Eastern New Mexico, Northeastern State) after a season-opening 3-2 overtime result against Colorado College on Sep. 2.

    Who's Hot

Juniors Sam Broadbent and David Freeland have combined to score the first two goals in wins over Texas A&M International and Colorado State-Pueblo.

But the Mustangs have shown even more strength while posting two shutouts on the defensive end after limiting Colorado State-Pueblo to just one shot Friday night at the MSU Soccer Field.

Over two games, MSU has limited the opposition to seven shots and no corner kicks under the leadership of starters Landon Fruge', Kelly Gill, Ryan Spence and Dean Lovegrove.

    About the series

Midwestern State and Colorado-Colorado Springs meet for the fifth time on the soccer pitch Sunday afternoon at the MSU Soccer Field.

The Mustangs own a 3-1 edge in the series including a 4-0 result in the last meeting back on Oct. 4, 2004 in Wichita Falls.
