WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Savannah Carver poured in a team-high 16 points in Saturday night's Lone Star Conference South Division contest against Eastern New Mexico at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
But the Zias overcame an eight-point deficit in the final 5:41 of the game to steal a 51-49 win to send the Mustangs to their ninth-straight loss.
Midwestern State hits the road to face Texas A&M-Kingsville Wednesday night at Steinke Center. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
The Mustangs enjoyed the lead throughout much of the first half and pushed the lead to to 47-37 when Carver putback
Andrea Buben's 3-point attempt with 6:01 to play, but would only score one more time on a Buben jumper from the elbow three minutes later.
Eastern New Mexico capitalized by scoring a 13-2 run over the final 5:41. The Zias took the first and only lead of the half on a pair of Til-Lois Fifer free throws with 50 seconds to play.
Fifer lead all scorers with 20 points and completed a double-double with 10 rebounds, while Cat Clay also finished 10 points and 10 rebounds as the only Zias in double figures.

Jazman Patterson had five points and nine rebounds.
Midwestern dropped to 6-16 on the season and 0-9 in divisional play, while Eastern New Mexico improved to 7-17 and 2-7.
