Angelo State takes advantage of miscues in 2-0 win in LSC Championships

WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Angelo State took advantage of a pair of Texas A&M-Commerce critical miscues to put away the Lions 2-0 in the opening round of the Lone Star Conference Championships Thursday afternoon at the MSU Soccer Field.

The Rambelles (13-5-1) struck in the 14th minute after Texas A&M-Commerce goalkeeper Randi Hafele mishandled a free kick allowing Ashley Brown to collect the ball and find the open net for her seventh goal of the season.

Both teams kept a defensive posture throughout much of the match until Angelo State put away the match when the Lions once again mishandled the ball in the 18-yard box allowing Brandie DeBacker to score put away with her 10th goal of the season in the 89th minute.

The Rambelles move on to face No. 2-seed Abilene Christian in the LSC Championship semifinals Friday afternoon at 5 p.m.
