WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Cierra Thompson and Kirsti Degelia led a throng of six Midwestern State players in double figures as the Mustangs scored their most lopsided victory in 12 years with a 101-26 win over Hillsdale Freewill Baptist Monday at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.

MSU, which improved to 1-2 on the season, also topped the century for the first time since pounding Central Oklahoma 100-58 on Jan. 3, 2004 while forcing the Saints into 43 turnovers.

The win was the largest since Midwestern rolled to a 120-40 victory over Southwest Assemblies of God on Dec. 15, 1998.

Thompson was one of many MSU players to post all-around games with 21 points, three blocks and three steals while Degelia added a season-high 20 points, five rebounds, seven assists and seven steals.

Savannah Carver added 16 points and four assists including a pair 3-pointers, while Nolisha Markham pitched in 15 points and eight rebounds in 25 minutes off of the bench.

The Mustangs used an 18-0 run in the first half to break open a 14-point game to lead 42-10 when Degelia converted a fast break layup with 1:28 to play as MSU led 47-11 at the break.

Midwestern increased its lead to a game-high 75 points in the final minute of the game and broke the 100-point barrier when Cluley hit the first of two free throws with 10 seconds to play.

The Mustangs converted 43 HFBC turnovers into 58 points and led 62-10 on points in the paint, 20-4 on second-chance points and 28-6 in points in transition.

Cluley added a career-high 13 points to go along with five assists, four rebounds and four steals, while Jazman Patterson tallied 11 points and snagged eight rebounds.

The Saints (1-5) were led by Michelle Garcia's seven-point effort.

Midwestern State opens Lone Star Conference crossover play next Tuesday against Southeastern Oklahoma at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
