WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Kelsey Hill's eighth goal of the season lifted No. 21 Midwestern State to a 1-0 win over Eastern New Mexico in a Lone Star Conference contest Friday night at the MSU Soccer Field.
The win extended the Mustangs' winning streak to six matches as MSU improved to 9-1 overall and to a perfect 4-0 in league play.
Hill took a feed from midfielder
Brittany Subia touched it past Eastern New Mexico keeper Sierra Cardenas then knocked in the only tally of the contest in the 57th minute.
The Mustangs dominated the run of play by outshooting the Zias 26-4 including a 6-2 edge in shots on goal.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Mallory Whitworth made two saves to notch her third shutout of the season.
Midwestern plays host to rival West Texas A&M as part of a doubleheader Sunday afternoon at the MSU Soccer Field. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
