No. 32 Central Okahoma rolls past No. 34 Mustangs, 7-2

EDMOND, Okla. - Alex Odell-Michels and Kaja Banas each claimed straight-set wins for No. 34 Midwestern State Tuesday afternoon at the UCO Tennis Courts, but it wasn't enough to overcome No. 32 Central Oklahoma which came away with a 7-2 win.

Odell-Michels, who improved to 12-4 while competing at the No. 1 singles' position, defeated Audrey Donovan while Banas upended Lacy Caldwell 6-3, 6-4 at No. 5.

MSU senior Faye D'Hamecourt gave Julie Vo all she could handle at No. 3 singles as the two split the opening sets by equal 6-4 tallies, but Vo outlasted D'Hamecourt 17-15 in the super tiebreaker. D'Hamecourt is now 10-6 in singles' play this season.

Central Oklahoma, which won its fifth-straight match to improve to 9-5, jumped out to a 3-0 lead through doubles' play to coast to the victory.

Midwestern State (9-8) faces St. Mary's (Texas) and Northeastern State this weekend at the Cameron Tennis Center in Lawton.
