PHOENIX - No. 28 Midwestern State closed the Grand Canyon President's Day Duels with a 7-2 win over No. 30 Sonoma State Saturday afternoon at the Paseo Racquet Club.

The Mustangs, who improved to 3-2 on the season, next battle Southwest Baptist (Mo.) on March 6 in Lawton.

MSU claimed all three doubles matches against the Seawolves with Vjekoslav Stipanic and Daniel McMullan teaming for an 8-4 win over Sonoma's Connor Olson and Jordan Smith at No. 1 while Carlos Bataller and Tiago Vilarinho edged Jeremy Heckly and Zel Sperry 9-7 at No. 2 and Chad Meeks and Octavian Dinuta rolled by Aaron Hamiton and Andrew Khuri-Yakub 8-2 at No. 3.
