DURANGO, Colo. - Alyson Rosel and Audrey George pitched in double-doubles to lead No. 5 Fort Lewis to an 82-54 win over Midwestern State Saturday night in the finale of the Skyhawk Classic at Whalen Gym.
Rosel scored a game-high 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while George notched 12 points and added 10 rebounds.
The Skyhawks (6-0) scored first seven points of the game and rolled out to a 15-1 lead when Rosel completed a traditional three-point play with 10:56 remaining in the first half.
The Mustangs played Fort Lewis even for the rest of the half as Fort Lewis led 36-19 at halftime.
But the Skyhawks continued to use their 2-2-1 full-court press deep into the second half to pull away for a 36-point lead when Jenna Santistevan converted a fast-break layup with 3:53 to go.
Midwestern State was paced by junior forward
Aqueelah Watkins who scored all of her 12 points after intermission, while sophomore guard
Savannah Carver hit 8-of-9 from the charity stripe to finish with 10 points.

Jazman Patterson scored eight points and pulled in five rebounds in her first collegiate start.
Midwestern State opens Lone Star Conference crossover play Sunday, Nov. 29 against Northeastern State at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
