SAN ANTONIO - No. 23 Midwestern State's
Hillary White recorded the first career double-double to lead the Mustangs to a 25-19, 25-21, 25-14 win over Incarnate Word Saturday afternoon at McDermott Center.
White, a 5-11 freshman from North Richland Hills, led MSU with 10 kills while hitting .409 and added 10 digs as the Mustangs improved the program's longest winning streak and start to a season to a perfect 18-0.
But the Cardinals (9-7) put up a fight.

Venera Flores-Stafford said. "They put up a nice block and have a scrappy back row. There a lot of long rallies. We're glad to get out of here with a win."
The Cardinals recorded eight blocks and had 60 digs led by Kim Kvapil's 17, while Spencer Ladd had 11 and Carla Flink 10.
"We had to play an all-around game today after facing a couple of really good blocking team," Flores-Stafford said.
MSU senior setter
Allison Schreiber directed the the Mustangs' attack to a .254 team attack percentage and finished with 36 assists, but also addd eight digs.

Jessica Ransom finished with eight kills, while junior middle
Sesley Graves added seven,
Alysha Pritt had six and senior right side hitter
Whitney Maxwell had five kills.
Senior libero
Shay Velasquez led MSU's back-row effort with 17 digs.
The Mustangs open the Washburn Invitational with Emporia State (Kan.) and Washburn (Kan.) next Friday in Topeka before facing Missouri Western and Truman State (Mo.) on Saturday.
