STEPHENVILLE, Texas – No. 24 Tarleton State closed out No. 32 Midwestern State 8-1 Tuesday afternoon at the Potishman-Lard Tennis Courts.
The Mustangs, who have now lost four of their last five matches, fell to 9-5 on the season, while the TexAnns improved to 8-2.
Tarleton State claimed each of the three doubles' matches, but MSU's No. 3 tandem of
Collean Kinser and
Ashley Huse battled Evgeniva Prokofeva and Jade Charlot to a tiebreaker, where the TexAnns claimed a 9-7 win.
Kinser claimed the Mustangs lone win by defeating Melanie Zilles at No. 5 singles 7-5, 7-6, while
Faye D'Hamecourt fell in a tiebreaker, 10-5, to Charlot at No. 4.
The TexAnns won the remaining singles' matches in straight sets.
Midwestern State travels to Dallas Baptist on April 12.
