WICHITA FALLS, Texas – No. 33 Northwest Missouri State edged No. 35 Midwestern State 5-4 Wednesday afternoon at the MSU Tennis Courts.
The Mustangs rallied back from a 2-1 deficit in doubles after
Zac Dillard and
Daniel McMullan claimed an 8-6 win over NWMSU's Vijit Sehgal and Felipe Gennari at the No. 2 position.
Midwestern State then closed to 4-4 after
Vjekoslav Stipanic, McMullan and
John Svard won at the Nos. 3, 5 and 6 spots.
But Sehgal held off Dillard 7-6, 4-6, 7-5 at No. 2 to clinch the match for the Bearcats.
Midwestern State, which fell to 11-4, plays host to Cameron next Monday at the MSU Tennis Courts.
Northwest Missouri State improved to 9-3.
