PORTALES, N.M. – Nolan Richardson IV dropped in 17 points and dished out nine assists to lead Midwestern State to a 73-57 season-ending win over Eastern New Mexico Saturday night at Greyhound Arena.

Jeff Ray as MSU finished the season at 13-13 and 5-7 in the Lone Star Conference's South Division.
"It was really tough on the team to come out here and play," Ray said. "The kids wanted more out of this year and deservedly so. I never found the right buttons to push at the right times this season. It's a disappointing years, but these kids are great kids. They deserved more."
The Mustangs charged out to a 31-14 lead after
Trajinski Grigsby hit a baseline jumper with 5:42 to play in the first half to close a 17-4 MSU run.
The Greyhounds charged back in the second as senior guard Justin Redman-Trotter poured in 20 of his game-high 30 points after intermission as Eastern New Mexico closed to within 59-52 with 5:26 to go.
But the Mustangs scored seven of the game's last eight points to seal the victory.
Senior guard
Jeremy Ford hit four 3-pointers and finished with 14 points.
The Wagoner, Okla. native finishes his two-career at MSU with 136 treys which rates fifth on the school's all-time 3-point makes list.
He also finishes the season with 79 3's which is the seventh most in school history finishing one ahead of Jay January (2004-05), Jovani Allen (2002-03) and
Drew Coffman (2006-07).
Senior guard
Chris Davis had 10 points and five boards, while fellow senior
Christopher Reay had four points, five rebound and blocked three shots in their final game for the Mustangs.
Eastern New Mexico's Marquis Ruffin finished with 19 points and nine rebounds as he and Redman-Trotter accounted for 49 of the Greyhounds' 57 points.
ENMU closes the season at 6-21 and 0-12.
