WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Nolan Richardson didn't score 30 points in his fourth-straight game Tuesday night against Texas-Permian Basin.
But the senior guard did drop in 12 of his team-high 16 points in the second and his teammates proved they could pick up the scoring slack as the Mustangs used a late 15-2 run to claim their fourth-straight win by a 67-60 margin at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
MSU, which improved to 7-4 on the season, plays host to Southeastern Oklahoma State Saturday night at Ligon Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. or 25 minutes after the conclusion of the women's game, which begins at 6.
The Mustangs used a big second half to offset a sluggish start as Midwestern managed to shoot just 27.6 percent (24-for-63) from the field before intermission.
Texas-Permian Basin led by as many as eight points in the opening and the Falcons were staked to a 50-46 lead after Rob Harris converted a three-point play with 7:53 to go.

Marcus Anderson answered with a three-point play of us own to ignite the 15-2 run.
Anthony Moore followed with three-straight layups before
Earl Rabb converted another three-point play and
Michael Godwin culminated the run with a 3-pointer from the right wing to give the Mustangs a 61-55 advantage with 2:21 remaining.
The Falcons clawed back to within a point, but the Mustangs converted each of his six free throws in the final 33 seconds to seal the victory.
Moore scored 12 points in a reserve role as the only other MSU player in double figures, while Rabb added nine points and four assists.
Sophomore forward
Charlie Logan completed a stellar all-around game for the Mustangs by scoring four points, pulling down a game-high 11 rebounds while adding five blocks and three steals.
UTPB, which dropped to 3-7, was led by Quintan Lipkins who hit five 3-pointers on his way to 21 points, while Harris completed a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
