WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Sophomore
Megan Bibilone scored her second goal of the season with 18 minutes left in the match to help lift the Midwestern State University women over the 11th ranked West Texas A&M University Lady Buffs 2-1 in a key Lone Star Conference match at the MSU Soccer Field Tuesday afternoon.
MSU (4-4-1, 2-1-1) took the early lead in the first half off a
Katy Lukert shot from just outside the 18-yard box. Her first of the season came a little more than three minutes into the match.
WT (8-1-1, 1-1-1) responded quickly with a goal off the foot of senior Sarit Shenar to tie the match in the 11th minute.
The game remained knotted until Bibilone's winner in the 72nd minute.
Midwestern State outshot the nationally ranked Lady Buffs 23-14 as MSU goal keeper
Ashley Meek saved eight in her first start of the season.
The win moves MSU into third place in the LSC behind Texas A&M-Commerce and Central Oklahoma.
The Mustangs will travel to Colorado this weekend to face Fort Lewis (Colo.) on Friday and then Mesa State on Sunday.
