WICHITA FALLS, Texas – No. 25 Northeastern State University handed the first home loss of the season to No. 27 Midwestern State University 8-1 in MSU's final contest of the MSU Quadrangular at the MSU Courts.
Midwestern fell to 11-3 on the season, while Northeastern raised it's record to 18-2. Both matches also counted in Lone Star Conference play.
Midwestern State won only the number three doubles match, as
Cilia Muller and
Michelle Watson defeated Nina Wenner and Gabriella del Campo 8-1.
The Mustangs number one doubles team of
Michelle Beukes and
Brenna Jackson lost a close match to Northeastern's Amanda Stone and Simona Stoica 8-6. Jackson also had a close contest with Stoica in singles, falling 7-5, 7-6.
MSU will be in action again on Tuesday, visiting Ada, Okla., to meet East Central.
