WICHITA FALLS, Texas – With a thrilling three set victory by
Zac Dillard at number five singles, the no. 23 Midwestern State University men's tennis team upset 18th ranked Cameron 5-4 in Lone Star Conference tennis action on Monday afternoon.
With the match tied 4-4, Dillard went into a tiebreaker to beat Cameron's Nicolas Mascheroni 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 to win the match for MSU. Dillard also teamed with
Tyson D'Acosta for the only doubles win against the Aggies.
MSU also got singles victories from
Brett Emerson,
Gene Ligeon and
Charles van Swelm.
The competition was fierce between the nationally-ranked foes as four of the nine matches were settled by last set tiebreakers.
The MSU men (12-4) are not scheduled for action again until Tuesday, April 11 when they visit East Central in LSC action.
