WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- The Midwestern State University women's basketball team won their second straight game on Friday, knocking off the University of Texas-Permian Basin Falcons, 81-62.
All five starters were in double figure points for Midwestern led by
Sonya Calhoun-Courtney's 20 points, six rebounds and three assists. Other starters playing well for the Mustangs were
Brandi Bush, who had 11 points and a team high 14 rebounds, and
Stacey Staten, who pitched in 13 points, six assists and seven steals. Brittney Burks scored 12 points, including 2-4 from the three point line, and
Kaylon Hodge had 10 points and six steals.
The Falcons were lead by Amanda Synatschk, who finished the game with 22 points, seven rebounds, four steals, and three blocks.
The Mustangs will be on the road next week, as they travel to Denver, Colorado to play in the Metro State Thanksgiving Classic. MSU will play Colorado State-Pueblo on Friday at 2:00p.m., and then play host Metro State on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
