WICHITA FALLS, Texas – The Midwestern State lost its final game of the regular season Sunday to No. 17 Central Oklahoma , 4-1.
With the loss, MSU (9-7-1, 5-3-1) will be the fifth seed in next weekend's Lone Star Conference tournament. Central Oklahoma (16-3-0, 9-0-0) will host the tournament, which starts Thursday in Edmond.
The lone goal for the Mustangs came on a penalty kick in the second half off the foot of
Kari Bristow, her fifth goal of the season.
Midwestern used two goalkeepers, with
Heather Primavera saving three of the seven shots she faced, and
Ashley Meek saving four of the ten shots that she faced. Both keepers gave up two goals.
The loss over shadowed senior night for the Mustangs.
Kelly Tanner was the lone senior for the women, and was honored in a ceremony prior to kick-off.
MSU will play the fourth-seeded Angelo State Rambelles Thursday at 2:30 p.m., in the first round of the LSC tournament, with the winner to play UCO.
