Late Goal Gives Mustangs the win

WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Junior Obed Becerra scored with 2:35 to play in the game, to help lift the Midwestern State University Mustangs over the Colorado School of Mines Orediggers, 1-0.

Becerra scored his first goal of the season from about ten yards out, on a great pass from Ahmad Ihmeidan.

The Mustangs (9-2-1) had no let down after their big win against top ranked Fort Lewis. Using a stifling defense led by Daniel Woolard and Danny Kastelic, the Mustangs held the Orediggers (9-4-1) to only six shots.

Goal keeper Jeremy Turner got his second shut out of the season, saving 4 shots. He improved his record on the season to 3-1-0.

The game was the first match in Sunday's action of the SSC-RMAC classic. In the second game top ranked Fort Lewis College (Colo.) beat West Texas A&M, 2-1.

MSU hits the field again on Thursday in it's final regular season home match.  The Mustangs face Texas Wesleyan at 7:30 p.m. in the nightcap of a women's/men's doubleheader with the Rams at the MSU Soccer Field.
