Incarnate Word ties Indians 2-2

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – No. 17 Midwestern State University men battled the University of the Incarnate Word to a 2-2 double overtime tie in Southwest Soccer Conference action Sunday afternoon at Cardinals Field on the UIW campus.

UIW (5-3-1, 4-1-1) got the game tying goal in the 51st minute from Monday Atigo off a feed from Miguel Hurtado.

The Cardinals opened the scoring with a penalty kick goal by Thomas Mosely in the 21st minute.

It didn't take long fro MSU (5-1-1, 4-1-1) to counter.  Just a minute later with the first of two goals by junior Olawale Adelusimi.  Adelusimi added his second goal off a feed from Keegan Hudson in the 25th minute.

MSU freshman goal keeper Raul Herrera collected one save while facing 18 shots and allowing two goals, while UIW keeper Gil Ben Nachum collected three saves against 13 MSU shots.

The game marked the only action for MSU on the weekend as Friday's scheduled match against St. Mary's was postponed due to threats from Hurricane Rita.

MSU is scheduled to play again on Saturday when it hosts Dallas Baptist in a 7 p.m. game at the MSU Soccer Field.
