Midwestern men blast Dallas Christian 122-69

WICHITA FALLS, Texas – The Midwestern State University men allowed Dallas Christian College to hang around for almost half of the first half before kicking it into high gear to defeat DCC 122-69 Monday night on Stockton Court in Ligon Coliseum.

The 122 points and 53-point margin of victory ranked eighth all-time for Midwestern State.

MSU (3-1) held a one-point 23-22 lead with 11:44 to play in the first half after DCC's Ronney Price nailed a three-pointer.  But that seemed to charge up Midwestern.

A LaKeith Grant layup started a 39-9 run over the rest of the half for a 62-31 advantage and Dallas Christian (0-6) could never recover.

All 13 Midwestern players who dressed scored in the game, with nine of them scoring in double figures.  Junior Eric Dawson led MSU with 17 points, eight rebounds and four blocked shots.  Grant, Chris Francois and Henry Riley all came off the bench with 13 points for MSU.

Eddie Rowe nearly double-doubled as well with 10 points and seven assists.

DCC got 15 points from Brandon Espinosa, while Daniel Worth added 14 points and Price 13.

MSU begins Lone Star Conference divisional crossover play on Thursday as it travels to Ada, Okla., to take on East Central University in an 8 p.m. game.
