Kristen Hawkins enters her second year as a graduate assistant coach at Midwestern State after completing a solid four-year playing career at the University of Virginia.
Hawkins made 148 starts at catcher for the Cavaliers of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) finishing her career with 21 doubles, 13 home runs and 57 RBIs.
She earned the dubious distinction of drawing 13 hit-by-pitches to set Virginia's single-season record as a junior in 2012. Hawkins finished her career with 25 HBPs which is the second most in UVa history.
Hawkins completed her sociology degree from the University of Virginia in 2013.
She will primarily work the pitching staff at Midwestern State.
