Ivan Martinez begins his second season as a graduate assistant coach at Midwestern State in 2022 assisting with the defensive line unit.
Martinez spent the previous two seasons working with the inside linebackers and as special teams coordinator at Kettle Moraine High School in Wales, Wisconsin, but took on other numerous responsibilities to support.
He also served as recruiting coordinator, culture coordinator, junior varsity defensive coordinator, social media director, ran the offensive scout team and broke down opponent game film while attending player workouts and preparing and printing all materials to facilitate practices.
Martinez competed collegiately at NCAA Division III Lakeland University in Sheboygan, Wisconsin beginning his career as a middle linebacker before switching to the defensive line for his final three seasons. He battled through injuries to help the Muskies to the NCAA Division III playoffs in three consecutive seasons.
Martinez earned bachelor's degree in biology from Lakewood in 2019.
