At Midwestern State
Scott Linn enters his 14th season at the helm of the Midwestern State men's and women's tennis programs in 2023-24Â after guiding the Mustangs to a combined 21Â NCAA Tournament appearances since arriving in Wichita Falls in the fall of 2010.
The Mustangs have thrived under Linn’s tutelage and leadership as he has reconstructed a perennial winner at Midwestern State.
Linn has directed the women's program to a 220-98Â (.693) in 13Â seasons on campus with 11Â NCAA Division II postseason appearances, reaching the round of 16 in 2013, 2014, 2018 and 2019 while making trips to the NCAA quarterfinals in 2015 and 2017.
Not only have the women reached the national postseason stage in all but one season under Linn's direction, they have also finished the season inside the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Top 20 on seven occasions including a high ranking of 11th in 2019.
The Mustangs claimed their first four Lone Star Conference regular season titles in 2014, 2015, 2017, and 2018. MSU also advanced to the LSC Postseason Tournament finals eight times during the Linn era, while claiming titles in consecutive years in 2014 and 2015 before winning three straight from 2017-2019.
The men have been every bit as good during Linn's watch, posting a 200-103 (.660) mark with 10 NCAA Tournament appearances while advancing to the national quarterfinals in 2013, 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2019 after a five-year absence from the postseason.
The Mustangs extended a run of national tournament appearances to 10 consecutive years in 2023 excluding the pandemic-shortened campaign of 2020. Linn has guided MSU to national quarterfinal showings on five occasions including 2013, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2019.
Midwestern State finished inside the ITA Top 20 six times during the Linn era, closing the 2015 campaign with a program-best ranking of 14th.
The Mustangs earned LSC regular season championships in 2018 and 2022. MSU has also reached the league's postseason tournament final on five occasions, while winning titles in 2013, 2018, and 2019.
