Hayley Hollenga begins her first season as an assistant coach with the Midwestern State women’s soccer program following two seasons as a graduate assistant coach in 2017.

Hollenga experienced a successful four-year playing career (2007-11) under the direction of head coach Damien Clarke at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. While at FLC, Hollenga helped the Skyhawks to a 66-15-12 record and four NCAA Tournaments, highlighted by an Elite Eight appearance in 2010.

Hollenga concluded her career as the Skyhawks’ all-time leader in goals (43), points (116), assists (30), shots (305) and game-winning goals (15) after leading FLC in scoring from 2009-11. Hollenga became the all-time goals leader on Sept. 2, 2011, with two scores in the Skyhawk’s 4-0 season-opening win over St. Cloud State.

In 2011, she was chosen by FLC fans as the best women’s soccer player in school history, earning a spot on the 100-person All-Century Team that was honored on Sept. 18.

A native of Colorado Springs, Colo., Hollenga was a 2010 NSCAA/Performance Subaru All-America Second Team selection and a four-time all-region honoree, twice earning NSCAA and Daktronics All-Central Region First Team accolades.

Hollenga collected three All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference honors during her illustrious career, earning first team nods in 2010 and 2011.

In 2010, Hollenga led the Skyhawks with 28 points and 13 goals on their way to the Elite Eight. In the NCAA Central Region Championship game, she scored one goal and assisted on the game winner in FLC’s 2-1 victory over Winona State.

That season, Hollenga was featured in Sports Illustrated’s “Faces in the Crowd” on Sept. 30 after scoring four game-winning goals during a five-game span. She was later named FLC’s Most Valuable Player after notching a career-best 13 goals in 2010.

After suffering a broken tibia at the beginning of the 2008 season, Hollenga returned for her sophomore campaign in 2009 to lead FLC to a RMAC Tournament Championship and a NCAA Tournament appearance, finishing with a career-high 29 points on the season.

Hollenga also spent three seasons as a reserve guard for the Skyhawks women’s basketball team, helping the squad to three-straight RMAC titles and a NCAA Division II national runner-up finish in 2010.

Hollenga graduated from Fort Lewis in April 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and Economics and a minor in Coaching. She is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree from Midwestern State.
