Kevin Jackson enters his second season as assistant women's basketball coach at Midwestern State heading into the 2024-25 campaign. He will be the defensive coordinator, player development coach as well as manage the recruiting, community outreach and scouting for the Mustangs.

Jackson spent the previous two seasons at Texas Wesleyan University where he mentored the guards, oversaw recruiting, scouting, film breakdown and served as the team's defensive coordinator.  The Rams finished with the deepest in program history for Texas Wesleyan, which advanced to the NAIA national tournament with a 50-13 overall record and the Sooner Athletic Conference Championship in 2023.

Kevin spent seven years working as an academic advisor at the University of Texas at Dallas while also running his business KBJ Academy with his wife Brenita Jackson.  The duo spent years traveling the country hosting camps, clinics and team building retreats.  They also co-authored a book "Play College Basketball" and produced two podcasts: "Hoops with KBJ" and "Coffee with KBJ."

Jackson spent the 2015-2016 season at NCAA Division I McNeese State as an assistant coach. He played a key role in helping the Cowgirls to a 20-win season and an appearance in the Women's Basketball Invitational.

Kevin's high level recruiting was evident in the two seasons at San Jacinto College, where he and Brenita led the Gators from three wins to 23 wins in their second season and a national ranking as high as ninth in the country.  Jackson tutored one of the premier point guards in the country Miranda LeJune who averaged eight assists per game as a freshman along with Kendra Howard who was a two time All American for the Gators.  The Houston Chronicle honored the couple for their relentless work by producing an article, "A winning team on the court and in life."

Kevin spent the 2012-13 season at Cisco College and the previous two seasons (2010-2012) as an assistant at Lon Morris College. He assisted the Bearcats to a 37-22 record and a Region 14 Conference Champion Runner-Up title in 2011.  He also recruited and developed 2 All Americans, 6 All Conference Selections and 1 NJCAA Academic All American.

Jackson played collegiate football at Southeastern Louisiana from 2003-07 earning all-conference honors. He earned a bachelor's degree in sports management from Southeastern Louisiana in 2007 and master's degree in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia-Irvine in 2012.

He and his wife, Brenita, are proud parents of one daughter, Kylee.
