Austan Davis is in his first season as a graduate assistant coach at Midwestern State in 2022 and is assisting with the running backs.

Davis was a starting left tackle at Midwestern State in his junior and senior seasons. He started all 10 games as a junior was named second-team All-Lone Star Conference.  As a senior he started five games for the Mustangs, who rolled up 413.6 yards of total offense per game. He was named the 24 Strong Teammate of the Year following the 2021 season.

As a sophomore at MSU, Davis played in 11 games and was the primary backup at both tackle spots. He started twice at left tackle against West Texas A&M and Minnesota State. The Mustangs permitted a national low 2.91 tackles for loss per game in 2017.

He appeared in seven games as a freshman, including two starts at left tackle. MSU boasted the second best rushing attack in the LSC with 196.1 yards per game in 2016.

Davis lettered in two sports at Sulphur Springs High School (Texas). He started at left tackle and tight end over three seasons for head coach Greg Owens. Davis earned All-District 15-5A second team honors as a tight end in his senior campaign. He threw the discus for each of his four years as a prep.

Davis is working towards a master’s degree in sports administration.
