Andre Shaw enters his first season as a full-time assistant coach at Midwestern State after spending the last three campaigns as a graduate assistant.
Shaw continues his role as recruiting coordinator and opponent scout on Nelson Haggerty's staff.
He played a key role in helping MSU to three Lone Star Conference championships advancing to the NCAA Division II postseason tournament in each of his seasons on campus.
Shaw also worked as a position coach mentoring a pair of first-team all-conference guards in Monzaigo Williams and Bretson McNeal.
He started his coaching career under former Univerity of Pittsburgh great Jerry McCullough at The MacDuffie School in Granby, Mass. while completing his undergraduate degree in communications.
Shaw enjoyed a stellar collegiate playing career at Western New England College scoring 1,143 points in three seasons at the NCAA Division III institution averaging 15.0 points per game.
The Harlem native graduated from the Vermont Academy in 2008 before playing one season at Essex Country in Newark, N.J.
Shaw is the son of former Midwestern standout LeRoy Shaw, who netted 1,759 points for the Indians from 1972-76.
