Find out what's happening with Midwestern State Women's Basketball during this week's Stang Gang Podcast, featuring head coach Brenita Jackson.

The Midwestern State women's basketball team is ready for a fresh start as the conference season begins on Thursday. The Mustangs face No. 14-ranked Texas Woman's at D.L. Ligon Coliseum, and the tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. The Pioneers are loaded with talent, including 6-2 Ashley Ingram from Bridgeport, Texas, who is averaging 19.9 points and 8.1 rebounds per game. In two previous appearances against the Mustangs, Ingram is averaging 23.5 points and 13.5 rebounds. MSU closed out the non-conference portion of its schedule in San Angelo, and battled No. 12-ranked Tampa, which brought out the best in Makayla Coy. The 5-11 senior scored 21 of her 33 points in the fourth quarter and also pulled down 13 rebounds in the 68-57 loss to the Spartans. Coy was 3 of 4 from beyond the arc.
