Midwestern State scored an impressive victory at St. Mary's to open its road trip last week. Will Shepherd, Pierre Sanders, Mason Gibson and Bakari LaStrap led the Mustangs to an impressive 83-76 victory at Bill Greehey Arena, where the Rattlers took a 20-8 lead in the opening six minutes. Two nights later, St. Edward's rode a hot start in the second half to an 85-71 win over Midwestern State. Midwestern State fell to 0-2 when shooting lower than 40 percent from the field as a team. The Mustangs connected on 26-of-68 shots (38.2 percent). The Mustangs have won all eight games when they shoot 40 percent or better.
