Head coach Rich Renner breaks down the Mustangs as they pursue a Lone Star Conference championship.

Rich Renner begins his second season as the head coach at Midwestern State and brought 36 high school players to the university on National Signing Day. Despite the emergence of the portal, the players coming in on National Signing Day are still relied upon to form the foundation of the program. This year, the emphasis was on size as the Mustangs look to compete in the Lone Star Conference. Four new coaches joined the staff in the midst of the recruiting season, including new offensive coordinator Kirk Bryant, but they were still able to help Midwestern State land a signing class that has Renner optimistic about the future of MSU football.
