STANG GANG MEN'S BASKETBALL PODCAST with Jon Trilli (Feb. 5, 2026)

Stang Gang Podcast | Jon Trilli

February 05, 2026
A candid conversation with head basketball coach Jon Trilli, who shares his thoughts about the men's basketball team and previews upcoming action for the Mustangs.

Midwestern State enters an important stretch of games as it looks to qualify for the Lone Star Conference Postseason Tournament, and it begins on Saturday with a game against UT Dallas, which won four of its first 11 games in the Lone Star Conference but enters the week with a four-game losing streak.

The Mustangs fell to 5-7 in conference play with a 77-57 loss at Lubbock Christian on Tuesday night. The Mustangs were severely shorthanded due to a virus that infected several members of the team, including Jonathan Jackson. Orlando Horton, Jr. sat out the game with a minor injury, but the team should be closer to full strength for its matchup with the Comets.

The final game of a three-game road trip is at UT Tyler on Monday night as the Mustangs face the Patriots in a game that was originally scheduled to be played on Jan. 24 but was postponed due to inclement weather.

You can hear the Midwestern State broadcast of both of the upcoming games on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network.
