STANG GANG MEN'S BASKETBALL PODCAST with Jon Trilli (June 23, 2025)

Stang Gang Podcast | Jon Trilli

June 23, 2025

A candid conversation with new men's head basketball coach Jon Trilli, who shares his thoughts about returning to his alma mater and taking the reins of a program steeped in tradition.

When Midwestern State needed to hire the 11th head coach in the history of the men's basketball program it turned to one of its own. Jon Trilli transferred to MSU from Garden City Community College in Kansas and played in 40 games under the tutelage of Grant McCasland. His father, Vic, also played and coached at MSU. Trilli, who was on Nelson Haggerty's staff for four seasons as the Mustangs won three Lone Star Conference titles, returns to Midwestern State after coaching on staffs at Arkansas-Little Rock, North Texas, and Abilene Christian over the past 10 years. Trilli's goal is to bring a national championship to MSU.
