Head coach Jon Trilli had his team primed for its exhibition matchup with Tarleton State, and the Mustangs took a 15-point lead in the second half before the Texans stormed back to defeat their old rivals. Ligon Coliseum for the conference opener on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. Several individuals are rounding into shape after missing significant time in the preseason. DaCannon Wesley, Charles McClennahan, Jr. and Tehshaundre Cole are formidable forwards for the Mustangs, who are also seeing outstanding guard play form Orlando Horton, Jr. and Terrance Ramirez. 

Jonathan Jackson is the leading scorer for the Mustangs with 13.6 points per game, and McClennahan is the leading rebounder with 7.3 boards per game. Antwan Taylor is dishing out three assists per game, and he is fourth in the conference with a plus-4 assist/turnover ratio.
