Krchnak named LSC Defensive Player of the Week, and Morris is LSC Goalkeeper of the Week

WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Midwestern State posted its eighth and ninth shutouts of the season last week, defeating both Lubbock Christian and Sul Ross State, 2-0. Jake Morris was named the Lone Star Conference Goalkeeper of the Week, and Ethan Krchnak garnered Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Morris, a sophomore from Parker, Colorado, matched his career-high with six saves in the Mustangs' 2-0 victory at Lubbock Christian. Morris has five clean sheets this season and has not conceded a goal in his last 209 minutes. Morris also received the honor in late September after making six saves in a 2-0 win over Western Oregon at Toyota Soccer Complex in Frisco, Texas.

Krchnak has been a stalwart in the back all season for the Mustangs. The redshirt sophomore from Pearland, Texas, had a goal and an assist during the regular season home finale as Midwestern State defeated Sul Ross State. Krchnak has two goals and three assists this season.

Midwestern State enters the final game of the regular season trailing UT Dallas for the LSC regular season championship by one point in the standings.  The Mustangs visit St. Mary's on Wednesday night, and the Comets travel to UT Tyler. Both matches kickoff at 7 p.m. and can be seen on FloCollege.
