WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Junior forward
Parker Plaxco earned his second Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week award after registering a goal and an assist at St. Mary's in the Mustangs' 2-1 victory, which clinched the LSC regular season championship.
After No. 8-ranked Midwestern State fell behind the Rattlers at Sigma Beta Chi field in San Antonio, Plaxco assisted on the
Italo Rodriguez equalizer in the 54th minute and then scored his conference-leading fourth game-winning goal in the 70th minute.
Plaxco is second in the conference with 11 goals and 26 points through 17 matches this season. The native of Stephenville, Texas, also won the award on Sept. 29 after scoring four goals in a 4-2 win over Northwest Nazarene.
This is the eighth weekly honor bestowed upon a Mustang this season.
Jake Morris has been named Goalkeeper of the Week twice, while
Ethan Krchnak,
Davis Mays and
Jaime Villagomez have received Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Liam Kervick was the Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 13.
Midwestern State hosts UT Tyler in the semifinals of the LSC 2025 Men's Soccer Championship on Wednesday evening at 5 p.m.
