This victory marks the fourth consecutive win for the Mustangs, who have not conceded a goal in the last 336 minutes.
The first half began with the Mustangs establishing control early.
Alan Rivera's shot in the second minute was saved, but the rebound allowed
Liam Kervick to score with an assist from Rivera, giving MSU an early lead. Shortly after, Rivera capitalized again with a goal assisted by
Liam Pritchard to extend the advantage to 2-0.
Despite several attempts by the Patriots, including a shot hitting the woodwork by Erik Oliveira, the Maroon & Gold's defense remained solid.
Daniel Robles, in goal for MSU, kept the opposition scoreless, and the half ended with the Mustangs leading 2-0.
MSU began the second half with sustained offensive pressure, highlighted by
Cooper Tea's attempts to breach the defense. Tea had multiple shots, including a close-range effort saved by DBU's Sean Mattivi. Midway through the half, Tea found the net in the 78th minute, assisted by Pritchard, to extend the Mustangs' lead. The Mustangs have impressively outscored opponents 12-1 in their last four matches.
The half continued with MSU maintaining control, while DBU's attacks were thwarted by Robles, who recorded a critical save against Oliveira's shot. The visiting team concluded the match with a 3-0 victory, securing their position with a strong defensive stand and effective offensive execution.
Looking ahead, the Mustangs will return to Stang Park to face UT Dallas on Saturday, Oct. 18. The match will kick off at 7:30 p.m. local time, with the home crowd set to provide support as the team continues their season.
