COMMERCE, Texas – Four players from Texas A&M-Commerce scored in double-figures to lead the Lions to a 73-61 win over Midwestern State on Saturday at the A&M-Commerce Fieldhouse.
Ekaterina Zhibareva and Alexis Bryant each poured in 16 for the Lions while Alexus Jones added 14 and Chania Wright scored 10.
The game was decided at the free throw line as both teams combined for 49 fouls and 59 free throw attempts. The Mustangs went 22-of-28 (78.6 percent) from the charity stripe while A&M-C hit 23-of-31 (74.2 percent) from the stripe.
Sophomore forward
Hannah Reynolds led the Mustangs and just missed her fourth double-double of the season. The Prosper native scored a team-high 13 points and grabbed nine boards while tallying a pair of blocks to give her an even 50 on the season, the fourth-most in single-season history.
Junior Liz Cathcart tacked on 10 points before fouling out in the fourth quarter.

Mica Schneider scored eight points, grabbed three rebounds and handed out six assists while picking up a pair of steals.
Trailing 34-27 at the four-minute mark in the second quarter, the Maroon and Gold mounted a 9-0 run to close out the half and take a 36-34 lead into the intermission.
A 19-5 run by the Lions to start the second half allowed A&M-C to regain the lead for good, up 53-41.
MSU Texas would trim the deficit to single digits on several occasions, but never drew closer than eight as the Lions maintained a healthy advantage to close the contest, 73-61.

- The Maroon and Gold fall to 1-5 in their last six trips to Commerce
