WICHITA FALLS, Texas — Goals were free flowing Sunday afternoon at the MSU Soccer Field.
The first three shots on goal hit the back of the net before 20th-ranked Midwestern State finally took control claiming a 4-2 result over St. Mary's (Texas) as the Mustangs rolled to their fifth consecutive win.
"We'll take the result, but we definitely looked a little bit sluggish," MSU coach
Doug Elder said. "We looked better in the second half and we were able to use our bench well."
St. Mary's shook the Mustangs up with a wake up call which came on a ringing goal from Ignacio Hernandez on a solid cross from the left wing from Armando Macias in the second minute of the game.
That's when MSU got its restart game on a roll.

Andrew Power converted his second penalty kick of the season and seven overall tally to tie the game in the 13th minute.
Three minutes later, junior defender
Call Casarez headed in a corner kick off of an assist from
Paul Sunderland to give the Mustangs a 2-1 advantage.
The Rattlers (2-2-2) hammered right back when Victor Luna powered a shot past MSU goalkeeper
Nick Petolick from the right wing in the 30th minute to send the game tied to the intermission.
The Mustangs took control of the match in the second half — once against utilizing the restart.
Senior forward
Len Smith headed in his fourth goal of the season on a Sunderland free kick headed forward by senior defender
Eric Glad in the 58th minute to give MSU 3-2 advantage.
Junior midfielder
Juan Farres buried a free kick from 20 yards ou tin the 59th minute to close out scoring.
Midwestern State plays host to Texas A&M International Friday night at the MSU Soccer Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
