ARLINGTON, Texas — Eastern New Mexico's Jeremy Buurma had thrown 82 consecutive passes spanning five games without interception and had his Greyhounds in prime position early on Saturday night at AT&T Stadium.
Meanwhile, Midwestern State junior
Dominique Rouse made his season debut just in the nick of time.
The Apopka, Fla. native stepped in front of an out route and returned an interception 55 yards for an interception to spin a 10-point deficit into a dominating 42-17 win.
"The coaches had us well prepared and that out route had been a good play for the them (early in the game)," Rouse said. "I give all the credit to God that he allowed me to be in the right place to put up my brothers."
It was the first of many big plays for the Mustangs, who took their first led of the night on sophomore wide receiver
Statron Jones 52-yard score on a toss from senior
Jake Glover with 7:27 to play in the first half.
Jones, who start the second half with a 68-yard scoring reception from Glover, finished with four catches for 127 yards.
"Both of these guys spent most of the week out with injuries," MSU coach
Bill Maskill said. "Maybe that's the key for success."

Midwestern put the game away with scoring runs by
Chauncey Harris (35) and
Adrian Seales (46) in the fourth quarter as the Mustangs accounted for 122 of their 130 rushing yards in the final period.
Glover passed for 303 yards on 12-of-22 passing with three touchdowns, while Wilson added 124 receiving yards on four catches.
Seales rolled up 58 yards on four carries to lead the rushing attack, while Harris ran for 52 yards on six carries.
Junior safety
Marqui Christian had 18 tackles to lead defensive efforts.
Midwestern State hits the road to take on Tarleton State Saturday night in Stephenville. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
