WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- No. 19-ranked Midwestern State shook off the nerves in time to dust off Metropolitan State (Colo.) 9-0 Friday afternoon at the MSU Tennis Center.
"Playing the first home match for a lot of the freshmen was very important," MSU coach
Scott Linn said. "There will always be nerves, but they did a very playing through that."

Courtney Anderson and
Amy Clifton found solid footing in finishing off a doubles' sweep taking an 8-4 win over MSUD's Wanda Hoolopainen and Cristina Oropeza at No. 2.
That carried over into a pair straight-set wins for the frosh making their home debut as Clifton beat Holopainen 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2 and Anderson blaned Whitney Vosig 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 5 line.
Sophomore
Kayla Casey scored the biggest win of the day for the Mustangs by claiming a 6-2, 3-6, 10-6 win over No. 28 Naomi Holopainen as MSU evened its mark at the top two positions at 3-3 this season.
"We are trying to establish that we can win at the top of the lineup and we did a good job with that today," Linn said.
Meanwhile, the Mustangs remained unbeaten at the Nos. 3-6 spots this season by improving to 16-0 in dominating style.

Lauren Pineda and junior No. 4
Taylor Coffman claimed 6-0, 6-1 victories, while Anderson and sophomore Madeline Schorlemmer took 6-0, 6-0 results at the Nos. 5 and 6 spots, respectively.
Casey and Coffman also teamed up for an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles while Schorlemmer and Pineda took an 8-0 victory at No. 3.
Midwestern State (4-0) takes on Arkansas-Fort Smith Saturday morning at the MSU Tennis Center. First serve is set for 10 a.m.
